Government Grainages<\/h1>\n

In the State, 63 Government Grainages, 326 Private Grainages and 6 Central Silk In the State, 58 Government Grainages , 215 Private Grainages and 6 Central Silk Board Grainages are functioning to produce and supply disease free layings to the Sericulturists. Out of 58 Government Grainages, 15 Grainages are functioning in Mysore Seed Area and 6 Grainages are functioning in Bivoltine Seed Area.<\/p>\n

Government Silk Farms<\/h5>\n

90 silk farms are functioning under State Government. The following activities are being practiced in these farms.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Basic Seed Cocoons are being produced under P4, P3, P2 & P1 tier system required for the production of bivoltine and cross breed layings as per the requirement by sericulturists.<\/li>\n
  • Improved Mulberry variety saplings are being raised and supplied to farmers in the silk farms wherever irrigation facility is available.<\/li>\n
  • Technologies brought out from the Research Institution are being tested for field trial in the silk farms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
