Weaving and Reeling Centers

The raw silk produced in the reeling Unit is passes to Handloom Societies for Production of Silk Saree and finished materials. Silk weaving now becomes popular among the Cotton weavers. The state has developed 5 (five) Silk weaving centres as Handloom Society Limited at MUhiripur, Nabinagar, Gokulnagar, Majlishhpur and Nutannagar. But due to absence of good Silk Market & lack of sufficient outlets stock of Silk is piled up. To solve this problem and to use the entire raw silk of the state, 2 nos Powerlomms Unit have already been establishedt & also Units are functioning efficiently in the state.
